Most successful drivers start their love affair with auto racing early and Kevin Madsen is no exception. At only a few weeks old, Kevin was taken to a local drag race in the Wisconsin area. His parents half-jokingly point out that ever since that horsepower-infused night, Kevin’s passion for motorsports competition has been ever-present.
From young beginnings in BMX and Motocross, to championship wins with a fresh drivers license in SCCA Solo 2 C Street Prepared and Street Modified, Madsen continued to grow as a competitor. “I had to pay for my own car and racing in addition to saving for college, so I never had the fastest ride, but even today that gives me more incentive to focus on my technique, work harder and personally excel as an athlete.” Indeed, he was able to excel even while deep into a college education at the University of California, Irvine. In 2002, while in his first full season after making the jump to road racing, Madsen captured the SCCA San Diego Region Pro-7 championship behind the wheel of a Mazda RX7. He also continued through college as a hotshoe racing driver for the UC Irvine Formula SAE program, improving lap times and providing valuable technical feedback on the cars handling and performance.
Pro Driver & Coach: Kevin Madsen
After college, Madsen was able to focus more on road racing competition and with challenges and victories over the years came plenty of critical experience. This experience translated over to 7 championships in the National Auto Sport Association and SCCA in the course of a 4 year period including a National Championship victory. In Kevin's final full road racing season as a professional driver, he won 9 out of the 10 races he competed in. Overall Kevin has stepped on the podium a total of 38 times with 25 of those being on the top step as champion. While Madsen's competition side is still as solid as ever, the experience gained from leading a team to victory safely and consistently has transferred over to an immensely busy career as a professional driving coach, precision driver and director of operations for track days.

He also volunteers for his alma mater, UC Irvine, as advisor to the UCI Student Alumni Association, and was named National Advisor of the Year in 2015 in Washington, DC.
