Most successful drivers start their love affair with auto racing early and Kevin Madsen is no exception. At only a few weeks old, Kevin was taken to a local drag race in the Wisconsin area. His parents half-jokingly point out that ever since that horsepower-infused night, Kevin’s passion for motorsports competition has been ever-present.

From young beginnings in BMX and Motocross, to championship wins with a fresh drivers license in SCCA Solo 2 C Street Prepared and Street Modified, Madsen continued to grow as a competitor. “I had to pay for my own car and racing in addition to saving for college, so I never had the fastest ride, but even today that gives me more incentive to focus on my technique, work harder and personally excel as an athlete.” Indeed, he was able to excel even while deep into a college education at the University of California, Irvine. In 2002, while in his first full season after making the jump to road racing, Madsen captured the SCCA San Diego Region Pro-7 championship behind the wheel of a Mazda RX7. He also continued through college as a hotshoe racing driver for the UC Irvine Formula SAE program, improving lap times and providing valuable technical feedback on the cars handling and performance.

Pro Driver & Coach: Kevin Madsen

After college, Madsen was able to focus more on road racing competition and with challenges and victories over the years came plenty of critical experience. This experience translated over to 7 championships in the National Auto Sport Association and SCCA in the course of a 4 year period including a National Championship victory. In Kevin's final full road racing season as a professional driver, he won 9 out of the 10 races he competed in. Overall Kevin has stepped on the podium a total of 38 times with 25 of those being on the top step as champion. While Madsen's competition side is still as solid as ever, the experience gained from leading a team to victory safely and consistently has transferred over to an immensely busy career as a professional driving coach, precision driver and director of operations for track days.

Kevin has performed in numerous commercials driving and drifting for companies including but not limited to Sony, Kumho Tires, K1 Speed, MTV and SCCA World Challenge.

He has also performed as a precision and demo driver including, but not limited to the grand opening of the Porsche Experience Center LA while drifting a Porsche 718 Boxster, jumping a vehicle on the back of a moving truck for a SPEED channel TV show, at Barrett Jackson giving drift ride-alongs in a 727 HP Roush Mustang, yearly at the Long Beach Grand Prix for Toyota USA giving hot laps around the street circuit and as a demo competition driver alongside Bucky Lasek in a new CrossKarts series in the USA.

As a coach Kevin has been hired to countless captains of industry as well as celebrities including, but not limited to Caitlyn Jenner, Jay Leno and Mark Paul Gosselaar.

Long term coaching positions Madsen holds include, but are not limited to Lead Instructor @ Exotics Racing LA, Porsche Driving Coach @ PEC LA, and Head Coach @ Hooked on Driving SoCal.

Kevin has given critical feedback to manufacturers as a Test Driver at tracks including but not limited to Honda Proving Center of California (HPCC), Ford Arizona Proving Ground (APG) where he is a resident test driver and the legendary Nurburgring Nordschleife in Germany.

Madsen has held significant leadership roles running events nationwide for companies including, but not limited to Imagine Lifestyles Ferrari & Lamborghini driving experience, Ferrari SoCal, AMCI, and Hooked on Driving SoCal.

The EXR Racing Series has Kevin serve as their Race Director and Head Coach, including approving licensing for their 3 day SCCA school program.

Kevin has served as a pro driver with affiliations to manufacturers including, but not limited to Mazda, Infiniti, Lexus, Toyota, Volkswagen, Mazda, Ford and Porsche.

In his limited spare time, Madsen remains humble and chooses to give back to organizations that helped him in his success. He supports the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, for which he served previously as District President, now as a local advisor and significant contributor to their nationwide scholarship fund. He also volunteers for his alma mater, UC Irvine, as advisor to the UCI Student Alumni Association, and was named National Advisor of the Year in 2015 in Washington, DC.
