Teammates Adrian Kunzle and Kevin Madsen will pilot the 2nd Ligier JS2R endurance entry for the STAK Racing by Rapscallion Motorsports team in the inaugural World Racing League “Crossroads Endurance Challenge” at Burt Brothers Motorpark in Utah.
Adrian Kunzle looks to continue what’s been a strong season in a wide variety of machinery. He and returning teammate Kevin Madsen have been in Lamborghini Super Trofeo, GT4, GT3, and GT2 cars thus far in 2025 in what’s been a break-out year of driving performance for Kunzle. The New York local has had back-to-back wins at the Long Beach Grand Prix during his SRO GT2 debut, a first-ever win in Super Trofeo at Laguna Seca on the IMSA race weekend, and more recently, a 2nd place overall finish in the GTO Class at High Plains Raceway in a 13 hour WRL race.
Kunzle took the wheel of the Ligier JS2R for the first time at the Colorado track, and quickly came to grips with it, along with teammates Tim Adams and Ken Sanders. “I love driving the JS2R, it’s like a cross between a GT4 and an LMP3. It is 100% race car, and easy to drive for long periods. Can’t wait to get back in it,” Kunzle said. Adrian, who has previously raced the Ligier JSP320 (LMP3) in IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, showed his pace from the get-go by putting the JS2R GT car on the front row in qualifying. From there, he had a great start for the team eventually taking the overall lead and setting the fastest lap of the 13-hour race enroute to a team-best 2nd place GTO finish.
For the next race on the WRL calendar, Kevin Madsen will join Adrian with driving duties as the duo look to improve upon the team’s result from their last race. “It’s been a lot of fun getting these two Ligier JS2R cars dialed with the team over the last few months. Now, it’s going to be even more fun to get to race with Adrian in the #678 Remo Health / Race for RP car, while still pushing the program forward with the sister #669 STAK Racing by Rapscallion car. Tim & Ken in the 669 have made monumental improvements in technique during their first year of racing and it would be amazing to get both cars on the podium together.” Madsen, a long-time Ligier driver, took the Ligier European Series AM championship win in the JSP4 prototype class, co-driving with Lance Fenton in 2023. He also took the inaugural wins for the Ligier JSP4 and Ligier JS2R chassis in the USA last year while driving with the Turn One Automotive team. The Ligier JS2R effort he was involved with, featuring fellow drivers Steven Aghakhani and Turbo Fenton, among others, captured the 2024 NASA WERC Endurance Championship in E0, subsequently giving Ligier its first American championship victory for the attractive and affordable GT car.

Madsen, a long-time ambassador for Race for RP, has the Relapsing Polychondritis foundation well-represented on the vehicle, much like his 2023 championship winning Ligier JSP4 that is in the popular Nintendo Switch game, “Hot Lap Racing”.
